Echoes rattle and light flickers from an extinct planet. Party guests swoon over cake frosting. Another war is declared. A man studies his reflection as a mechanical bird observes memories of family and community imprinted in the leaves of an ancient forest. Natural instinct is overwritten by domestic policy and insanity. Failed revolutionaries stare into space. Masked servants profess their love. A baker hears the buzzing of a broken globe while a journey through a house of learning reveals profound knowledge and wisdom. The puzzle has been put together. The story has been transcribed. The roles were chosen and rehearsed. A schoolchild and a stranger hear the sound of a changing wheel!
